IVN
The International Association Natural Textile Industry certified all 38 nappa and velour leather of each collection – as well as all Ecopell lining leathers. Also Rodeo and Rodeo+ are meanwhile certified. The strict guidelines of the IVN evaluate (once a year) not only the product but all the related production steps – from stock farming to the tanning process as well as the own wastewater disposal. In particular we want to thank the Lohngerberei in Bayern for their support of our initiative.
Detailed information on the criteria of this single standard for natural leather in Europe is available on the website of the IVN. We are pleased to be once again officially confirmed in our efforts to produce a very environmentally friendly natural leather.
“The conditions of IVN-foundation imply, that only those may use the seal for their communication, who are certified themselves – in this case meaning the Ecopell GmbH. Our customers can achieve the certification on their own. Since other components might be used with Ecopell – such as yarn or glue – those components need to be proven as harmless regarding skin tolerance. As soon as the seal is confirmed it can be used in your communication. Otherwise, only a textual reference about the use of Ecopell leather and its certification as allergy friendly is also possible. In such an instance, the use of the IVN- seal itself is restricted.”

BIOKREIS E.V.
Also Biokreis, the German Association for ecological farming certified all Ecopell leathers in every year. As member of Biokreis we are engaged together with another 120 agricultural companies, 150 producers and 200 consumers for a consequent developement of ecological and sustainable subsistence strategies.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR ECARF CERTIFICATION
Dear Customers,
Since the beginning of our activities at ecopell, we have put all our energy into clean, compatible leather and transparent, sustainable supply chains and production lines down to the last detail.
This resulted in IVN and Biokreis certifications, which continue to be reviewed annually. The ECARF certifications have also always been our concern in recent years.
Due to the immensely increased costs in all areas, but especially the enormous price increases for re-certification with ECARF, we have decided to no longer have our nappa and suede leather certified in this area. We very much regret this development, but for us as a company there is no alternative for the reasons mentioned and hope for your understanding, the manufacturing process of our leather will of course remain 100% the same.
